Roku!

I finally set up the Roku box last night after class. It was really late though and I was super sleepy. I set up the Pandora and Facebook apps. I tried to set up the Netflix app, but it kept saying I was putting in my password wrong and since I was so sleepy and my eyes were blurry, I just gave up. I can’t wait to play with it more tonight. Yay.

Did I also mention I have a HUGE bruise on my booty from when I accidentally sat on the wheel of my desk chair the other day? It’s all black and sore, BUT it’s shaped like a heart. Hahahahaha. Anyways, I’m so happy it’s Friday. It’s been a hell of a week!

Jetta All Betta!

The Jetta is alllllll betta!

ACME took care of everything, as usual.

I picked her up on my lunch break. Just a new bolt to put the motor back on the mount and we’re back in business!  Now that I’m thinking about it – I should have taken before and after pictures. Siiigh… oh well. Thankfully it was quick and cheap and easy and I didn’t have to get a rental car after all. I filled here up with gas AND ran her through the car wash. The $10 “BEST” wash. Yay! I’m happy.

Car Trouble

Siiiiiigh. Oh Jetta.

I broke down on the freeway on the way to class last night. It felt like I popped a tire or ran over something. When I pulled off the road and popped the hood, my motor looked like it was sagging. Eventually the 511 safety truck pulled up behind me and he took a look at it and said the motor mount broke.

Thankfully I renewed my AAA a few weeks ago (after a 2+ year lapse) and I was able to call and arrange a flatbed to tow me to the garage.

Acme Garage was still open when the Jetta rolled off the tow bed around 6:45PM. One of the guys was working late and opened the gate so I could store her safely inside. He looked at the motor and said it was indeed the motor mount and hopefully it didn’t crush or hurt anything else when it descended.

A weird series of events happen after I drop off my car… I’ll tell ya later. For now, I gotta focus on bulldozing through the piles of work on my desk. Happy Thursday!

My Roku Arrived!!

My Roku arrived! I ordered it on a Friday and it arrived Wednesday afternoon. I’m so excited I can’t wait to set it up.

Lyrica

Lyrica

Lyrica is the newest drug in my daily regimen. I take it twice a day now – once in the morning and once at night. I feel like a different person when I take it, I’m actually able to complete my daily tasks without pain and discomfort, which is rad.

Downfall? It’s super expensive. It’s $70 for a 90 day supply from my mail order pharmacy. Through a retail pharmacy (Walgreens or CVS or whatever) it would be $35/month or $105 for a 90 day supply. That’s a total of $280/year for just ONE drug I take. Plus, that’s AFTER my insurance pays their part! Crazy, huh?

Sometimes look at my accounts in mint.com and see the total amount spent on prescriptions and I just sigh. Blah. My health and well-being is worth it though, so I just keep shoveling the money out every few months for my medications. Yay.
